Connective tissue is a type of complex tissue which consists of matrix and the cells are embedded in the matrix. The nature and amount of the matrix found differs depending on the function of a particular connective tissue. The matrix may be jelly-like, fluid, dense or rigid.

Some of the examples of connective tissues are:

1. Blood, 2. Bone, 3. Ligaments, 4. Cartilage, 5. Tendons
