Homozygous is the genotype (diploid) which is present in each parent, indicates two identical alleles of trait.

There are two subtypes of homozygous traits:

  1. Homozygous dominant genotypes that possess two dominant alleles for a trait. (TT)
  2. Homozygous recessive genotypes that possess two recessive alleles for a trait. (tt)
