Lactic acid fermentation in certain bacteria and animal tissues. Initial step in the fermentation is also glycolysis, which is then followed by the lactic acid fermentation. In lactic acid fermentation pyruvic acid gets reduced to lactic acid with the aid of NADH. Lactic acid is the end product of the fermentation process.
