SATURATION OF ENZYMES

  1. The point where all the active sites in an enzyme are completely occupied by substrate molecules is meant by saturation of enzymes.
  2. Further increase in substrate concentration does not increase the rate of chemical reaction.
  3. This stage of maximum velocity of the enzyme is called as Vmax.
