  1. Diseases which develop in an embryo during pregnancy and are present since birth are called congenital diseases.
  2. They are inheritable.
  3. It may be caused due to Chromosomal aberration (e.g. Turner’s syndrome, Down’s syndrome etc.) or Gene mutations (Colour blindness, Haemophilia, Sickle cell anaemia etc.)
