In mosses plant a cup shaped structure which is formed from the archegonium is known as the calyptra. The calyptra is attached to the capsule which will protect the sporophyte and it will fall off only after the capsule matures.

Calyptra is a haploid structure which is formed by venter wall of archaegonium.It surrounds the capsule(sporogonium) after oospore is formed and is later blown off as tge capsule matures.
