Paraphysis is the multicellular hairs which are present along with the reproductive organs in the mosses. The antheridia or archegonia are intermixed with the structures known as the paraphysis on the male and female branch respectively. The paraphysis is of two types they are;

Uniseriate and multicellular with hair like filaments or multicellular elongated paraphysis with broadened tips.
