Viroids are infectious agents smaller and simpler than viruses.

They contain circular single stranded RNA’s about 250 - 350 nucleotides long.

They have low molecular weight 1.1 to 1.3 × 105.

They are responsible for causing plant diseases such as Chrysanthemum stunt disease, Potato spindle-tuber disease, citrus exocortis and cucumber pale fruit.
