  1. Sulphur dioxide (SO2) and sulphur trioxide (SO3) are the oxides of sulphur.
  2. Oxides of sulphur cause irritation of eyes, nasal mucosa and respiratory tract.
  3. More exposure to these oxides produces respiratory disorders and Emphysema.
  4. It also affects plants, buildings, monuments and sculptures.
  5. SO2 forms acid which damage the soft tissue of organisms.
