  • Vas deferens  (plural: vasa deferentia) also called ductus deferens is the duct through which sperm move from the epididymis to the ejaculatory duct. In other words  it is the tube that carries sperm from the testes to the urethra in males.
  • It runs approximately 50 centimetres. It passes into the abdominal cavity.
  • Length of the vas deferens is used to store sperm for several months.
  • Each testis has its own ductus deferens.
  • Sperm enter the urethra from each vas deferens.
  • During a vasectomy (male sterilization), the vas deferens from each testicle is cut and sealed.
