Template strand is a strand of nucleic acid used by a polymerase as a template to synthesize a complementary strand.

Coding strand is a strand is a base sequence directly corresponding to the mRNA sequence.

Template strand is a sequence of DNA that is copied during synthesis of mRNA.

Coding strand is an mRNA like strand which corresponds to the codon that are translated to the protein.
