The plasma membrane is composed of:

1. Lipid Bilayer: The major components are phospholipids. It contains fatty acid chains, glycerol, phosphoric acid and Cholesterol molecules embedded inside.

2. Proteins: Both on the outside membrane and inside the phospholipid bilayer

3. Carbohydrates: Present on the outer surface
