GROUNDWATER DEPLETION

  1. Ground water is generally considered to be safe and useful for drinking, agricultural and industrial purposes.
  2. Ground water is also less prone to pollution.
  3. However, in the recent years ground water is depleting due to its injudicious use both for agricultural and domestic purposes.
  4. Deforestation also affects the ground water levels.
  5. Replenishment of ground water level can be done through Rain water harvesting(RWH) and reforestation.
  6. Rain water can be collected on the roof tops of buildings and can be stored underground for future use.
