The parenchyma cells which are associated with the xylem are known as xylem parenchyma cells. The parenchyma cells are found abundantly in the primary xylem but reduced in secondary xylem. The parenchyma cells of the primary xylem are always living whereas that of the secondary xylem remains living until the xylem tissue undergoes conduction.
