Evaporation is the process of conversion of water from the water bodies into water vapour. Whereas transpiration is the process of release of water vapour from the leaves through the openings known as stomata. It depends upon the moisture of the soil and the humidity of the atmosphere. The total water lost from the earth is the sum of evaporation and transpiration is called as Evapotranspiration.
