Phytochrome is pigments which exist in two forms the Pr and Pfr which are inter convertible. The absorption of red light converts the Pr to Pfr while the absorption of far red light converts the Pfr to Pr. And in dark the Pfr spontaneously converts back to the Pr. These response of phytochrome is known as the photo reversibility.
