Anti transpirants are chemical substances that applied on leaves can reduce the transpiration. The anti transpirants acts by causing the closure of the stomata, it forms covering on the transpiring surface so as to decrease the water vapor diffusion. The pre harvest application of the anti transpirants increases the fruit size, delays the harvest, increases the size of the fruit and reduced shriveling etc. The post-harvest application of the anti transpirants enhances the functions of natural barrier and in addition it controls the water loss, it delays ripening by controlling the internal atmosphere and also improves the shiny appearance etc.
