Methanogenic bacteria are anaerobic organisms that will produce the methane. The production of the methane from the carbon dioxide or formic acid occurs in an environment where the oxygen is absent. The methane formation occurs at a temperature between 10°C - 100°C. This process of production of the methane is known as the methanogenesis.
