The types of Plastids are:

  1. Leucoplast: Plastids without pigment are called Leucoplasts. They are commonly found in cells not exposed to sunlight. They are found in embryonic and sexual cells.
  2. Amyloplasts: They are responsible for storage of starch. They are found in endosperms, storage tubers and cotyledons.
  3. Chloroplasts: They are most common Plastids found.  They are commonly found in green cells exposed to light.
  4. Chromoplasts: Found in coloured cells of petals and fruits.
