Placentation is the arrangement of ovules on the placenta inside the ovary of the flower. Based upon the presence of number of locules in the ovary and the position of the ovules there different types of placentation are recognized. There are eight different types of placentation observed in the angiosperm flowers.

They are:

  1. Marginal
  2. Parietal
  3. Axile
  4. Free central
  5. Basal
  6. Superficial
  7. Pendulous
  8. Lamellar
