Phylloclade is a flattened or cylindrical stem having nodes and internodes. The leaves are usually reduced into spines or scale leaves which will reduce transpiration. It is a xerophytic adaptation. The phylloclades are green in colour and perform the photosynthesis. The phylloclade is also known as cladophyll.
