During the secondary growth the cells of the medullary rays i.e. the cells lying between the adjacent vascular cambium become meristematic and forms a strip of cambium known as inter fascicular cambium. i. e. the inter fascicular cambium lies between the two adjacent intra fascicular cambium. The inter fascicular cambium and the intra fascicular cambium get interconnected to form the cambial ring.
