  1. A catalytic converter is a device used to remove pollutants.
  2. They are fitted into automobiles for reducing the emission of poisonous gases such as CO and NO2.
  3. They have expensive metals like rhodium and platinum-palladium as catalysts.
  4. As the exhaust emission passes through the catalytic converter, nitric oxide splits into nitrogen and oxygen.
